Nina M Sousa, ESQ

Atty. Sousa has worked with children and their families since 2002. She worked her way up to becoming a Director of the South Coast Youth Courts Program, through which she’s worked closely with courts, schools, police and mental health providers to address misdemeanor crimes and child behavior issues. She has the experience and perspective to effectively understand and connect with people working through difficult divorce and custody issues.

Her long history of working with families in need inevitably spilled into her legal career.  She enjoys helping families through custody and divorce issues.  Atty. Sousa believes in helping clients  from a holistic approach.  She often jokes with her clients, “ Am I your attorney today or your therapist?”. Though in a joking manner, she truly believes that family law cannot be approached from a purely legal prospective.  Family law is an emotional and difficult process that requires a different kind of attorney.

Before getting her law degree from UMass Law, Nina received a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice and Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Anna Maria College. 

 Nina has a passion for working with people and helping them through difficult times. Her legal knowledge and ability to help people stay calm and focus on what’s important while keeping them informed and involved throughout the case makes what can be a difficult process much easier and smoother for the client.
